The Lighthouse (or “Le Phare“), is a work inspired by a childhood fondness for Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “The Little Prince.”
The structure, like the Prince himself, sits in quiet contemplation, guarding and protecting those that travel through the same universe as Asteroid B-612.
As a project, The Lighthouse is an exploration of an implicit narrative held fixed in space but not in time. The rustic and uncluttered scenes are meant to engage the viewer with the investigation of visual clues free of distraction. The last sequence of renders provides another window into this world with a time lapse of the same scene over the course of a day, providing hints at an unfolding story occurring in the background.
Developed over the course of a year, the series of renders represents only a brief foray into this world.
All aspects of layout, design, modeling and rendering were completed by myself for this project.
