Online Competition

This was my creation for an online 3D design challenge.

The goal was to utilize a base model (provided without textures or mapped UV’s) and create color, specular and normal maps to match provided environmental references. We were constrained to utilize predominantly tiling textures, but decals and a judicious use of 1:1 textures were also permitted. Further, there was a time limit of 20 hours to present the final piece.

While renders were required, there were no stipulations about the presentation. For the submission, I created the sequence of daytime renders. After the challenge was over, I created a sequence of more atmospheric nighttime renders.

Modeling was accomplished in Maya and maps were created in Photoshop.

Renders were made utilizing Mental Ray in Maya.
